Melanie & Brendan

6th July, 2013

An interview with Bride, Melanie Sleeman

Wedding Location:

Cleveland Winery, Lancefield, Vic

How long did you plan your wedding?

We got Engaged on May 6th 2012, so just a little over a year.

Favourite Moment of the day:

Watching everyone see me walk down the aisle for the first time in my dress and my beautiful and different bouquet.

Any funny quotes from the day?

It was a VERY cold day (didn’t look like that in the photos) but my 9 year old niece played the Violin while we were signing our paperwork and my younger sister who was a bridesmaid was holding her music notes so they didn’t fly away and my sister was that cold she was shaking and my niece said to her ‘Aunty Jade stop shaking the music I can’t read them’ was just funny and beautiful at the same time.

Advice for those getting married?

Have fun with the planning, choose what YOU like, and don’t let people persuade you to do, have people there or have certain things there you don’t want. It is YOUR day so make it YOUR day. Don’t be afraid to say no to people who want you do things or have things there.

And why did you choose Nic’s Button Buds for your day?

Because I fell in LOVE with Nic’s work and knew I wanted one. Not only because they were beautiful but they tied in SO well with our Vintage theme, They gave our wedding a WOW factor and I LOVE doing things different, I’m not a traditional person and I wanted non-traditional and different things at our wedding to give it that special something.

Mel’s Supplier Advice

When finding Suppliers I would recommend to go with small local businesses to support a Small Business and a lot of the time they are SO lovely to work with and can do a great price.

Highlights Video

Video Story – Mel’s Videographer  has been kind enough to share her highlights video.  What an amazing job.  People see Video as a “if there is enough money in the budget” add on for their wedding at times and its often booked at the last minute – but having had a Videographer for my wedding i have to say its a MUST have.  Find a way to make room for one in your budget – you wont regret it.
