It took us about 18months to plan the wedding. Well we set the date 18 months before the wedding and started planning then. It really only took two months to book everything and then the 3 weeks before the wedding to get everything we’d forgotten organized.

Location: Caboolture, Queensland

Ceremony: St Michael’s Church

Reception: St Michael’s College Performing Arts Complex

Favourite Memory/ Moment of the Day:  There are so many great moments for the day. I married my best friend, I had a beautiful and unique bouquet that everyone commented on and just suited me to a tee. I had all my family there and got to party and dance with them. Also my best friend from school surprised me by coming to the wedding. I hadn’t been able to get in touch with her and tried through her family and her sister managed to get her to come as a surprise for me. I didn’t see her until i was walking out of the church. Best moment of the day!

Advice for others getting Married:  Make it your wedding. Don’t let others expectation of you or your day ruin it. If you want to dance done the isle do it. If you want a unique bouquet (even if people don’t get it to start with) GO FOR IT… have no regrets. This is yours and your spouse’s day. Try not to let others expectations and wants weigh you down. Also take time out during the day to look around and take it all in. The day goes by so so quickly. HAVE FUN… so GREAT!

Why did I choose Nics Button Buds?: How could I not!!! HAVE YOU SEEN THESE BEAUTIFUL WORKS OF ART?? When I was looking into bouquets and flowers I just googled wedding bouquets to get flower ideas. I saw a picture of a button bouquet. Clicked the link and it took me to Nic’s web page. Looking into all the other creations Nic had made I just KNEW I had to get one of her bouquets.

The process from start to finish was so lovely and Nic really did everything she could to make my bouquet perfect. I was so excited when she told me it was in the mail and was NOT disappointed when it arrived. It was absolutely stunning. I have it on display and still look at it with happiness and love.

I have since bought another one as a gift for a dear friend and I also have convinced my sister to get Nicole to make her bouquets. YAY…. that means another one for me!!

Note From Nic:

What can i say about Amy, except it seems like we have known each other FOREVER now and i am sure will be friends for life.  Throughout the order process Amy used to skype me sometimes and we would have a chat, often not even about her bouquets lol!  We have never met face to face but its going to happen one day….

Amy was so much fun to work with.  There was a great mix of special family heirlooms in her bouquets as well an injection of fun.  The bouquets were button bouquets, Amy’s was Ivory, and cream with highlights of red and gold and silver mix.  It had a collar of tulle and some special family pearls draping from the bouquet.  The handle featured Dean’s Family tartan (Chisholm Modern) in the form of ribbon with another piece of jewellery that was a sentimental piece hand sewn onto the handle.  The tartan also features on the buttonholes and wrist corsages that the groomsmen and Amy’s Mum & Dad wore.

The bridesmaids bouquets were black, red and white, finished with red handles with a custom button on the end saying “Life’s a Garden… Dig It”  I have since had many requests from brides to include their on their bridesmaids bouquets for a bit of fun.  Amy also won a competition to win a small button bouquet and elected to have this made up in white, ivory and cream mix with gold and silver highlights.  This was used on her cake table and she hopes that she can hand this piece on for others in her family to use.  I have also since had the pleasure of sending another bouquet over to one of Amy’s friends in the USA.

Dean – if you read this i have it on good authority that Amy would LOVE another bouquet to add to her collection.
