Who is Nic?

For those that don’t know my name is Nicole and I started this business after creating my first alternative bouquet (a button bouquet for my wedding) in 2010.

My background is in Customer Service and when I first started the business I was working full time managing a Customer Service Team working with products in the mining, rail and truck industries.  Prior to this I worked in Customer Service roles with Linen & Homewares, IT and car radios. Way way back I worked in hospitality and was a horse riding trail guide.  In addition to NBB I work part time helping builders get their registrations in Victoria.  Its really interesting and gives me the variety I need to stay sane.  I worry if I was home full time I would lose focus and my bouquet work would suffer.

I have always been into arts and crafts, my mum is an avid patchwork and quilter and runs her own commercial quilting business.  My mum knits, sews, crochets, spins wool, felts and does a lot of beadwork.  My Grandmother is also crafty making all sorts of projects with my sister and I as kids including teaching knitting, sewing and helping me to make clothes for my Barbie Dolls.

I grew up in country Victoria and spent most of my life living in and around Marysville, we had horses, dogs, cats and birds and to this day I am an animal lover and currently have 2 dogs (Crumbles & Abby) and 2 cats (Velcro & Fudge) who are never too far away when I am at home.  I would have more animals if we had the space.

As a kid I loved anything to do with art and even through highschool used to decorate each school assignment (regardless of the subject)with its own special cover.

I openly admit to being a little loud and talking too much, I also swear like a sailor  (I blame the hospitality industry for this bad habit) Other things you might not know are that I am a car fanatic – I love V8’s and watch the supercars, but for the last 6 years I have driven a WRX which I have been known to take to the track and race (although I am not very good)

I have been married to my husband Chris since 2011 and we have been together since 2001 – he shares my love of cars but does not hold the same enthusiasm for buttons.  Its also our 3rd wedding anniversary today!  Happy Anniversary Chris xxx

I am truly honoured to have been able to work with so many brides to create bouquets for their day.  I love being able to create and come up with ideas to help makes every bride’s wedding unique.
